Portfolio 4.2 Release Notes
New Features
Drill Down Widget for Calculation Tracing
The Drill Down widget is available in Scenario Dashboards. The most basic form allows a drill down to the calculation level of the metric. The Expand Expressions option allows full calculation tracing, providing full visibility into how any metric is calculated and making it easier to troubleshoot, verify, and explain results. It also allows multi-level grouping of metrics for further analysis.
Sharable Portfolio Collections
Collections may be shared between users, with permission structure similar to that of Portfolios. From the landing page, users will see their own collections first, followed by collections that have been shared with them. Collections are listed in alpha-numeric order.
Grouping for Single-Opportunity Widgets
Grouping will now apply to single opportunity widgets (Pareto, Variwide, and Heatmap), allowing aggregation of opportunities into groups to gain insight into higher level themes.
Simplified Opportunity Deletion
Deleting opportunities has been made easier: the user is no longer required to find and remove all references (selections, rules) prior to deleting an opportunity. References are summarized for the user to review prior to deleting. Deletion is only disabled when an opportunity.
Planning Space Economics: Individual Project Selection
Projects may be individually selected from Planning Space Economics data sources. Right-click menu allows select all / de-select all options. A counter in the Result Set row below shows the number of projects selected.
Filter Differences in Selection Comparison Heatmaps
The user can now filter to only view opportunities with selections that vary across the compared scenarios. Hide all opportunities with same selections and focus on the key differences between scenarios.
Enhancements
- Metric Constraints may be exported into an Excel sheet for easy editing and re-importing.
- Planning Space tenant URL is now editable for existing data sources. Doing so will break existing links to result sets (Economics) or documents (Dataflow) but will preserve variable mappings where possible. The new Recover All option will attempt to restore mapping to variables with the same name.
- Support bulk export of all scenario dashboards at once.
- Edit the Planning Space tenant when sourcing data either from new or existing data sources. This will enable copy/import of an existing data source and editing of the URL. Note some elements will not be found in the new URL even if the tenant databases are similar. For example, selected Result Sets will need to be removed and added again. However, variables with the same name should map automatically and we have included Recover/Recover All options in the mapping template to assist further if needed.
- Enabled Administrator to edit external URLs in client configuration, giving the client more capability to configure Portfolio themselves. New URLs will take effect with browser restart.
- When exporting opportunity contributions to CSV or Export Database (Odata), there is now an option to append the unit label to the metric name. This will be useful for portfolios where the unit label is managed separately.
- Added option to rename data versions.
- Added option to test an Odata password against a specific URL.
- Small change to Metric Limit import behaviour - if units are defined for a metric but not included in the Metric Limits import, the system will assume the existing unit applies.
